We have designed a fantastic concert including three choirs and our favourite Proms Singalong at the end. The concert opens with the Randwick Proms Classic Choir singing Handel, Purcell, Mozart and Verdi. After our last Proms Concert in May 2009, the Randwick Proms Choir won the Open Choir section at the Sydney Eisteddifod. This year they were awarded two High Commendations, and have recently appeared at the Sutherland Proms with the Willoughby Big Band. Dallas Watts (baritone) will sing a tribute to the great Australian bariton, Peter Dawson, with a mini-recital of songs including The Floral Dance and The Road to Mandalay. The newly formed Randwick Proms Contemporary Choir will perform some of The Seekers' greatest hits including Georgie Girl and The Carnival is Over. You will love this new choir and they have had great success in their three performances to date! In response to many requests over the years we are doing a Gilbert and Sullivan Savoy Opera Tribute, with some of the best songs from Pirates, Mikado, Gondoliers, Lolanthe and H.M.S. Pinafore. The Lugar Brae Community Choir will then join us for some soundbites from their most recent performances. The massed choir will sing the Hallelujah Chorus and then we will on join in for a singalong at the end! Following the concert you will be invited to stay for a scrumptious supper at no extra cost!
